New article about Dimensions – Why are outlines important?, hope you enjoy while reading the article. This article is really interesting for me.

The ability to perceive contours is probably the most important skill to learn the first drawing. Come and see why you need to develop this capacity …

Contours and shapes

Every physical object that occupies space, has its own fitness. Physical fitness is often the first thing that we can identify an object. Each object has an overview. The contour is the extreme outer shape that you see when you look at the object. The difference between a shape and contour of objects is that physical fitness is usually constant (starting from a fixed object, non-malleable), can change during the stroke.

Outline and Perspective

The outlines of an object is determined by the initial shape of the object and choose your position. If you look at a static object from different angles, you will see a different shape outline of each unique perspective (with the exception of what is obviously a perfect sphere). The same is true if you keep your sight fixed, but you move or rotate the object. Therefore, the basic features of the same as if neither the subject nor the change in perspective.

Why important outlines?

The contours are important in learning design, because the profile defines the boundaries and the shape of the object on your drawing surface selected from your point of view. The Contour provides the overall shape of the object as it appears in your drawing. If you correctly perceive an overview of objects in the preparation of this object do correctly in your drawing. Note that the outline of an object changes point of view, so that your left brain tendency known to fitness, to the object and not to be overcome to focus on the actual shape of the considered point of view.

If you exercise correctly and draw a precise summary, it appears that the object will be to have a lot more real in the drawing. This is understandable, because if the contour is not straight, it tends to be quite clear to us (these are very good prospects to identify illogical).

You can concentrate on and draw, as we the outlines of the drawing position (from your point of view) and do not look at the physical shape of the object!
